Mindy & Justin | 4.23.22
Original post from May 2022
As a fresh photographer, I have experienced my fair share of "firsts" within the past couple of years. From my first solo shoot to my first elopement and first full wedding & reception, there have been countless memorable moments. But for Justin & Mindy's wedding, I had an abundance of firsts all packed into one day! It was the first time I had a shoot longer than 6 hours, which required me to carefully manage my pumping schedule for my 5-month-old baby, Corbin. Moreover, it was my debut capturing a Catholic Church wedding and handling a 16-person wedding party (my largest to date had been 8). Additionally, it was my first opportunity to work with the couple on an engagement shoot beforehand and have a second shooter with me. The cherry on top was experiencing separate wedding and reception venues for the first time, all the while being away from my precious 5-month-old for longer than just a couple of hours. I must confess, I was extremely nervous leading up to the day. The morning was a whirlwind of preparations, and my adrenaline was on overdrive once everything got underway. However, Mindy & Justin turned out to be the sweetest couple, and their families were so incredibly supportive. They understood that I was a new mom and made sure I had enough time to take care of everything between locations. I couldn't have asked for a better couple to share so many firsts with!
